Core Beers

These are the BrewTech Labs core beer selections.  These beers have been formulated with centuries old brewing traditions in mind and an eye to the modern consumer.  The selection represents a spectrum of beer styles from light in flavor, color and body to darker, more robust beers from the German, English and American brewing traditions.  With these five core products and a proprietary brand or two, a brewery can satisfy any customer’s preferences – introducing them to consistent, high quality small-batch beers brewed on-premise.

·        Munich - ABV:    5.1%

This is our version of the beer that made Germany famous.  First brewed in March of 1894, Helles’s sublime balance of maltiness and noble hop aroma has become the staple German beer – accounting for over 60% of all beer drank in Germany.

Our version uses authentic German malt and hops, our special, cleanly fermenting lager yeast and pours with a brilliant white head atop a bright straw colored beer.

·        California Common - ABV:    5.6%

The synthesis of American ingenuity and European tradition, California Common is one of only three uniquely American beer styles.  Born in America’s Wild West in the days before mechanical refrigeration, Common Beer was for a century the beer of choice for thirsty pioneers.

Our version is brewed with American malt and hops from the Pacific Northwest.  It is at once a testament to the quality of American raw materials and a nod to the European brewmasters who first created it.

·        American Pale Ale - ABV:   5.6%

The American Pale Ale is the American small-batch brewing industry’s contribution to the world canon of beer styles.  Born in the brewhouses of small west coast breweries, American Pale Ale is hoppier and packs more of a flavor and alcohol punch than does it’s British namesake.

Our version is modeled after the west-coast original from a brewery in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains that has become the classic example of the style.

The mingling of imported English malt and hops from the American Northwest make for a deep copper colored beer of unparalleled drinkability.

·        Brown Ale - ABV: 4.7%

A direct link to the earliest days of brewing history, Brown Ales have been quenching the thirst of the hearty, genteel people of the British Isles for hundreds of years.  The style from which all other styles of ale sprang, the malty sweetness and smooth palate of Brown Ale is comforting and satisfying.

Our Brown Ale is brewed with imported English and Scottish malt, hops from the southeast of England and our unique top-fermenting strain of yeast.  Tawny and smooth, this is a session beer in the classic sense.

·         Porter                                                ABV:   6.1%

As the Industrial Revolution raged in Great Britain, entrepreneurs found ways to automate and amplify the production of every conceivable commodity.  Beer was no exception.  Porter was the first style to actually be designed with the final product in mind rather than being simply a product of the available raw materials.

Porter, named for the dock workers who were the first to discover its thirst quenching properties, soon found favor with the masses and the men who made it grew in size as well as personal wealth.  George Bass, Arthur Guinness and Michael Young were all London Porter brewers and their breweries are giants to this day.

Our Porter is dark and robust.  Brewed with malt imported from Great Britain and Ireland, we add an American twist with some hops from the Pacific Northwest.  Big in body, flavor and character, our porter is sure to please on chilly autumn and winter evenings.
